For the Love of all things Rustic and Old

This is our own personal kitchen. Our home is located in the lovely countryside of the Fergus/Arthur area. Jen and I knew when we moved here that we wanted the interior of the home to match the country atmosphere in the surrounding area, and rustic cabinetry, flooring and other woodwork was defiantly the direction we wanted to go. Our kitchen features Rustic hard Maple cabinets with a peninsula finished in a series of steps that makes it look like its 100 years old with many wear marks in the antique black finish and also features wrought iron handles. The floors are wide planked Hickory and has quickly become one of the most durable hardwood floors I have ever seen! The kitchen, and the rest of the home also features a full wood ceiling...drywall just wouldn’t have fit into the look that we wanted and it has quickly become my favourite part of our home. The Countertops are Antique Brown Granite and gives an old look to the counters. The back splash also has a rustic look, and is tumbled porcelain which gives us the rustic look of travertine that we wanted, yet the durability and maintenance free characteristics of porcelain.

Teeny Tiny

This very small kitchen looks a lot larger than it once did, with the removal of two short stub walls (as seen in the before picture) now expose to the fridge cabinet and give open countertop on the other side…this small kitchen now has become a functional kitchen that not only is great for working in, but looks even better! The home also featured a very tiny walk in pantry which I was able to maximize its space and added some much needed storage plus a wine rack for the customer.

No more Bulk Heads

This amazing looking Cherry kitchen is quite a bit different than the original. The original kitchen featured full bulkheads above the cabinets that where free of electrical or hvac piping giving the home owner a chance to easily change the appearance of the kitchen while creating full height upper cabinet greatly increasing the storage in the kitchen. With its deep red stain, stainless steel hardware and built-in appliances we were able to bring a whole new look to this once dated kitchen.

Up’s and Down’s

This traditional styled Cherry kitchen features a two tierd cabinet design with raised panel and applied moulding doors, high grade granite and wood paneled island. All this makes for a great kitchen to prepare you next meal.

Picture Perfect

This Cherry kitchen features applied moulding and raised panel doors, a dark, rich mahogany stain, 2” thick Cherry island countertop with granite inner section. Built in appliances and more drawers and storage than one could ever dream for. The granite countertops in this kitchen are exotic honed granite that gives warm, leather like feel.

Out of the Ashes

Due to a house fire that started in the kitchen, this whole home was gutted with nothing left behind but the studs, roof and brick. The Rustic Hard Maple cabinets and Tan Brown Granite is a big change from the Oak kitchen they previously had.

From Oak to Cherry

Two Rooms made into One

The owners of this Cherry kitchen decieded to tear down the wall dividing their 1960\'s kitchen and thier recently added office addition on create a larger kitchen. After alot of work and their dream of having a large kitchen came true!

160 Years Old

When the owners of this 1850’s rule Ontario farm house came to me with plans to update their kitchen they said they wanted something that would look original for the time period of the home. From the Rustic Hard Maple cabinets, to the clean shaker style doors, drawers and panels, Antique Brown Granite to their wood ceilings...this home now has a kitchen that looks like its 160 years old only now, new stainless steel appliances bring into the 21’st century.

Sentimental Value

This sandblasted Ash kitchen is not your typical kitchen, from the rustic, almost weathered barn board look, to its shaker design and antique Elmira Stove Works appliances. But what makes this kitchen different from all others is that the very tree’s these cabinets are built from once stood where this amazing Timber Frame home now does.

New meets Old

This brand new home features a kitchen built from Rustic Hard Maple. With its shaker design, straight lines and rustic beauty the cabinetry fits right in with the antique looking appliances and traditional apron style sink.
